Alan “Sandy” McFarland, 56, of Brandenburg, KY passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Norton Audubon Hospital, Louisville, KY.
Mr. McFarland was a veteran of the United States Army and was a Catholic by faith. He had been employed with the Ford Motor Company for over 20 years and was a TKA 4th degree black belt.
He was preceded in death by his father who was a POW & WWII Veteran, Robert William McFarland.
His loving wife of 30 years, Cheryl McFarland of Brandenburg, KY; two children, Rachel Miller of Louisville, KY, Eric Ford & his fiancee, Kirssa of New Albany, IN; his mother, Dorothy McFarland; close family member, Andrea Thomas; four siblings, Robert McFarland & his wife, Peggy, Gary McFarland & his wife, Joyce, Gail Amini & her husband, Moji, Paul Mayo & her husband, Bob; three pets Sammy, Mr. Kitty, Dopie; and a host of family & friends.
Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday and from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM Wednesday at Coffey & Chism Funeral Home, Vine Grove, KY.
Funeral services for Mr. McFarland will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the chapel of Coffey & Chism Funeral Home, 769 Highland Ave., Vine Grove, KY with Rev. Daniel Lincoln officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.
